I have been Personal training in Harrogate for over ten years now and have had some great success with my clients over that time.

I love my job, being able to work closely with individuals to help them achieve their goals is what really motivates me. I completed University with a 2:1 degree in Sport Science in 2001 after studying modules such as motivation in sport psychology, weight management and exercise rehabilitation.

I love keeping fit myself and always aspire to continuously improve. I believe that training is all about being practical, functional and most of all enjoyable but results don’t come without just a little hard work!

Hayley Griffin

Hayley Griffin has been a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor in Harrogate for over 10 years. Working at some of the biggest health clubs in the area Hayley has gathered the knowledge, skills and expertise to give her clients the service and results they desire.

Hayley now trains out of Spa Bottom Farm offering fun, inter-active and up to date training sessions in a warm, welcoming and non-intimidating environment.  She works with a wide variety of clients from sports professionals through to people seeking to improve general fitness, tone and appearance, helping with weight loss and injury rehabilitation. 

Hayley’s training programmes constantly evolve as her clients fitness levels improve. New exercises and equipment are introduced at every session to keep clients motivated and enthuisiastic. Her philosophy is that training should be fun as well as effective.

Lisa Heptonstall

My professional, enthusiastic and friendly approach makes my clients feel at ease when exercising, which helps them stay focused and motivated to succeed in achieving their personal goals.

I have the knowledge, skill and drive to make exercise enjoyable whilst achieving my clients individual goals. My client base ranges from complete beginners to advanced fitness, they vary in age from 11 to 80 years old and are of all abilities.

Part of my work is dedicated to clients who suffer from disabilitating illnesses such as Parkinson’s disease, M.E and Diabetes. I have a strong client base of people who suffer with their blood pressure, recovering from illnesses such as cancer and also clients who are strengthening up after hip replacement and knee surgery.

Juliana Samson

Juliana originally trained as a physiotherapist at the University of Sydney, Australia, graduating in 2000 with a first class honours. She then gained experience in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries through working with the armed forces, the NHS and private practice in both Australia and the UK.  
Returning to Australia in 2005 to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Juliana completed her graduate certificate at the University of South Australia, before settling in Yorkshire. Through working for the British Army for 10 years and setting up a clinic above the ‘Up and Running’ store in Harrogate  she has developed a passion and a special interest in running biomechanics.

After 5 years at ‘Up and Running’, Juliana has moved to the Rudding Estate Gym to offer her clients the space to combine hands on treatment with rehabilitation, to get them back on track. She offers 1 on 1 Pilates instruction, Performance Matrix testing, and also practices from another site in Guiseley.

To keep up with the latest developments in physiotherapy, Juliana is studying part time at Keele University for a Masters Degree.

Sally Trask

Sally Trask MA RDMP is a Movement Therapist and Certified Pilates Practitioner who brings over 16 years of movement experience to her Pilates teaching. Sally is now offering small, friendly, mixed ability Pilates classes at Spa Bottom Farm. Sally’s background is in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (the psychotherapeutic use of movement and dance for personal integration and growth) graduating with a Masters degree from the University of Surrey Roehampton, London. Sally has developed an integrated approach to her Pilates teaching that incorporates the movement principles of Franklin, Laban and Body Mind Centering. Sally offers both group and individual Pilates classes.

Sarah Byrne

Hi, I’m Sarah

I am originally from Louisiana, USA. After some time living in Africa and Japan, I have settled in Harrogate with my husband and our young daughter.

I started practising yoga over 6 years ago whilst I was living in Japan. I had never really been sporty but was looking for something to improve my fitness, plus help me to reconnect and relax in the fast paced city environment. I continued to practice with various yoga teachers over the years, before making the decision to become a teacher 2 years ago.

I believe I’m a very responsive and considerate teacher. I understand that starting yoga can seem like quite a daunting and embarrassing experience, it certainly did for me!

Catherine Matthews

Catherine has worked as a Beauty Therapist since 1988 after qualifying in ITEC at York College of Arts and Technology.

She has experience in managing a salon of four therapists and then opening her own successful salon where she employed other therapists and rented rooms to Complementary Therapists also.

After starting a family she now works Thursdays and Fridays at Spa Bottom Farm Treatment Rooms offering treatments to clients old and new.
